Artist Colin Palmer is a long established artist and illustrator – specialising in architectural illustrations for either private clients or for property developers. He is highly regarded for his work, which is usually created using watercolour paint.
I have been working with Colin since 2008 and in that time have done a great many scans of his work and produced hundreds of prints.
Some years back Colin created a large number of paintings depicting all the distinctive shop fronts along both sides of Marlborough High Street in Wiltshire. This is a popular tourist location in Wiltshire with it’s distinctive wide double road width and central parking bays, lined with distinctively period looking buildings.
Colin had the idea to have all the scanned files for each side on the High Street to be stitched together to create a very wide panorama image. This job we did for Colin was rather challenging getting all the images to properly line up and blend seamlessly together.
The resulting files were used to create unique ultra-wide prints of the High Street as it looked in 2014 and these are now on display in the Marlborough Museum (behind the Merchant House) – in the High Street.
You can see the result here:
Marlborough is also home the renowned Marlborough College, with its prominent presence at one end of the High Street.
